Chief Executive Officer: Brian Gill, MSW, MBA
Brian Gill joined Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital in 2007. A graduate of Washington State University and Walla Walla College, Brian holds a Master’s of Social Work degree and completed the MBA program at the University of Arizona in 2007. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arizona with over 17 years of experience ranging from managing Employee Assistance Programs (EAP’s), rural mental health consultation services and Emergency Department social services to directing Intensive Outpatient and IP Programs (IOP’s) for Adolescents, Adults and older adults. Brian also served as an adjunct professor with the Gerontology Department at Phoenix College in Arizona with a focus on the Bio-Psychosocial challenges faced by older adults.
Chief Financial Officer: Rachel Cox
Rachel Cox joined Sonora Behavioral Health in 2007. Rachel has over 27 yrs experience in Healthcare Financial Management with a background in Oncology, Acute and Long Term Care Acute Rehabilitation, Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Care and Sub-Acute Skilled Nursing Facilities. Prior to coming to Sonora, Rachel was involved in the planning, opening and start up operations of 3 hospitals in California and served as the Chief Financial Officer at Kindred Hospital Modesto, the Director of Finance at Alta Bates Comprehensive Cancer Center in Berkeley and the Chief Financial Officer at both Continental Rehab Hospital of San Diego and Robert H. Ballard Rehab Hospital in San Bernardino. She was also an active member of the Society of Professionals in Healthcare (SPH) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
Director of Nursing: Maureen Price, RN, JD
Maureen Price joined Sonora Behavioral Health in July of 2007. As a nurse attorney, Maureen has worked in hospital risk management, compliance and operations for over 17 years. Prior to coming to Sonora, Maureeen was with Kindred Hospital where she and her team received the Quality Hospital of the Year award in 2005. She has also been the Director of Risk Management and Clinical Operations for Health South RIT, Continental Medical Systems of Southern Arizona and Charter Tucson. She is an active member of The American College of Health Care Executives and the Tucson chapter of Women in Healthcare.
Director of Performance Improvement: Maureen Copeland, RHIA
Maureen Copeland joined Sonora Behavioral Health in 1994. Maureen has been a healthcare professional for 30 years with a background in both behavioral and medical/surgical management. Copeland received accreditation honors for the Quality Improvement and Utilization Management programs she created for five start-up facilities. At Sonora, Maureen directly supervises the areas of Performance Improvement, Risk Management, Medical Records and Human Resources. Her experience includes having been the VP of Administrative Services at Desert Hills Center for Youth and Families and Quality Assurance/Risk Manager at Sonora Desert Hospital as well as providing consultative services for Hospital Corporation of America.
Director of Business Development: Kim West, MS
Kim West joined Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital in 2008. Kim has 12 years of clinical and supervisory experience in a variety of behavioral health settings that include outpatient counseling and inpatient involuntary treatment. She has also provided forensic evaluations and counseling for the Department of Corrections in Washington State. In addition to her clinical experience, she has marketing and assessment experience with the behavioral health programs for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), Charter Hospital in San Antonio, Texas as well as Horizon Mental Health Management in Phoenix, Arizona. She received her Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology and has held licenses in Texas and Washington as a licensed professional counselor.
Director of Adult Services: Micaela Alexander, MA LISAC
Micaela Alexander joined Sonora in 2007. She has an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from New Mexico State University. Micaela is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor in Arizona and New Mexico. For the past 10 years, she has worked primarily in correctional facilities in New York and New Mexico with dually diagnosed offenders. Her expertise are developing innovative dynamic treatment programs. ~ "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, it is that we are powerful beyond measure. Director of Youth Services: Tracy Simpson, MA
Tracy Simpson joined Sonora Behavioral Health in 2008. Tracy has a M.A. in Psychology from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi. For the past 15 years, she worked with at-risk youth in foster care and correctional systems. Tracy also was a private practitioner in Texas, working with at-risk youth and their families. She has 6 years of supervisory experience in a group home facility. Tracy holds a license in Texas as a licensed professional counselor and is currently pursuing a license through reciprocity in Arizona.
Director of Assessment and Referral: Roxane Skolsky MA, RN, BC
Roxane Skolsky joined Sonora Behavioral Health in 2008 bringing with her 25 years of psychiatric nursing experience. Roxane came to Sonora from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey where she was the chief clinician of their Psychiatric Emergency Service. She is board certified in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Roxane is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. She is a graduate of Rutgers College and Seton Hall University.
Roxane has received the Frances Black Humanitarian Award for her assistance in counseling victims post 9-11, as well as, the Pat Petrik Award for healing hearts and minds in her work providing group therapy for cardiac patients. She also has spent several years as a volunteer on the International Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team.
